Common Errors

Error 1003 Application Object not found

Also Run-time error 1004 : Unable to get the Add property of the Addins Class

Potential cause:

The mrpro517.xla is not loaded. Go to Excel options, and Manage Addins, and add mrpro517.xla, browsing and finding (it should be in c:\mrp51) if necessary when prompted.

--------------

Error 540 Automation error:

Also for Run time error 429 :ActiveX Component cant create object

Potential cause:

The mrprodongoodl32.dll is not registered (typically just running myrekg7.bat (64 bit OS) or myrekg.bat as administrator, by right clicking, after exiting excel. Read instructions in readme.txt and register it. Updates of MRPRO will not cause this dll to become de-registered. However, administrative actions on the hard drive including certain antivirus software that sweepingly remove all dlls from registry that it does not understand, can also cuase the problem. Just register the dll again by using myrekg.bat or myrekg7.bat (depending on OS version) or manually. See instructions.

--------------

Error in hidden module:

Potential cause:

The mrprodongoodl32.dll is not registered. Also check your version of Excel, should be 32 bit. How to check your Excel version

--------------

Compile Error in hidden module/module 1:

Potential cause:

The mrprodongoodl64.dll (or mrprodongoodl32.dll for 32 bit OS) is not registered. Read instructions in readme.txt and register it, but remember to use mrprodongoodl64.dll for 64 bit OS and mrprodongoodl32.dll for 32 bit OS. If you registered the wrong dll, unregister it using the regsvr32 /u and file name to unregister, then delete the imprper dll ( to be sure), and then register the proper dll. Also check your version of Excel, should be 32 bit. How to check your Excel version

--------------

Error 9: Subscript out of range

Potential cause:

Either mrpro51.xls has been saved as a .xlsx or other format, or if Excel 2010 or later, the directory C:\mrp51 has not been selected as a trusted directory. Go to Excel options, Trust Center and choose C:\mrp51 as a trusted directory. Another source of this error is Excel cannot open a file you are trying to open as part of the program. If you are using a filename list, make sure the filenames are not needlessly long and complex and causing Excel VB an issue.

--------------

Error 13: Type mismatch

Potential cause:

If your IT os system admin has to enable the application, they have not done it. Get them to allow the executable files in C:\mrp51 If you get the above error due to your setting in Excel, it has something to do with the following type of issue (although the exact issue is different).

Possible reason

If you can find the setting that causes this, set it in your default setting to prevent this error. An alternate recommended solution is to run on a machine with Language setting English. This has to do with version defaults in Excel and nothing to do with preference of one international language over another.

--------------

Run time error 91 OR Alternate error "Method-Activate_Object of Notebook Failed" OR "Object variable or With Block not set":

Potential cause:

The program cannot open the file you want opened. Please ensure the filename and path and in the column they should be in, or if manually pointing. so you are sure of path and name, is it a good file, openable otherwise?

May also be a file with mandatory objects or parameters missing. Note down the file (name) it stops at if doing I/O, then look at the file for missing mandatory reference.

A needed file is mising or cannot be opened if error message is accompanied by a "Method-Activate_Object of Notebook Failed" (Runtime error-2147221080)

It is possible a file you have open is not being able to be accessed for selecting cells, this may be because it is not in a trusted directory. If the file is in C:\mrp51 check the "Trust Center" in Excel to ensure that c:\mrp51 is a trusted folder. If the file you are accessing (even for conversion) is in another folder, ensure that folder is also a trusted folder.

Other error:

Potential cause:

Error in your data file

--------------

At startup this error: invalid picture run time error 481

Potential cause:

it may be related to this Microsoft error

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974899

though their fix may not work unless you have vb6 installed. As they point out, different systems could get this error. Its probably a system file being messed up or deleted somehow due to update from some other program. A solution seems to be offered by this link:

http://www.exactsoftware.com/docs/DocView.aspx?DocumentID={79a06bfe-8a9e-475f-9e25-381308bd8f97}

the hotzip location is:

Its this file, you want to copy from the extracted files to c:\windows\SysWOW64 (if 64 bit win 7) or c:\windows\system32 (if vista or 32 bit win 7) before launching. mscomctl.OCX
